www.psrb.com.my 14 July 2006

We have received feedback from members and guests regarding the condition of the golf course. The work schedule undertaken to improve the overall greens and the course condition is as follows:

Pulai Course:

The Greens. The green were hollow tined (cored), top dressed and fertilized on 2, 3 and 4 July 2006. They are responding well to treatment and much growth is seen. The fertilization programme continues and the greens should be in good condition for play by 30 July 2006.

On 25 July 2006 the course will be closed (routine closure for maintenance) where verticut/scarifying and light top dressing and fertilization on all Pulai greens will be carried out. This is done to remove the thatch (dead roots) thereby assist in increasing the density of the greens. This should not affect play on the next day.

The Fairways. Aggressive programme involving workers and volunteers (Gotong Royong) will be carried out on 25 July 2006 to remove foreign weeds. Repair of divots and pitch marks will also be carried out. In fact, this exercise has already kicked off with our weeders removing weeds on weekday afternoons.

Soggy areas and black/brown spots: these areas are spot cored and sand dressed to induce growth. This is an on going process.

Melana Course:

Greens. Light scarifying/verticut works and light top dressing to be carried out on 17 July 2006. This is to induce growth. On 31 July, 1 and 2 August the course shall be closed for cultural practice (coring, scarifying, top dressing and fertilizing of all greens). We expect the greens to be in good playing condition from 21 August onwards.

Fairways. Soggy areas and brown/black areas will be repaired throughout the three weeks from 1 August until 21 August.

Naturally, the greens will be sandy after the first 3 days of top dressing. We regret the inconvenience caused during these maintenance periods.

Should there be further inquires, please call me at 07 -521 2222.
